What we do

BLACOMO ADVOCACY NETWORK supports and promotes awareness in communities and empowers youths by providing training to enhance their abilities in various capacities, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

We support and promote awareness initiatives in communities, helping people understand and work together on critical issues.

At Blacomo, we value relationships and work to resolve conflicts through dialogue.

Building Peaceful, Responsible and Stronger Communities in Sierra Leone.

 

 

 

Young people are at the heart of Sierra Leone’s future. They carry energy, creativity, courage, intelligence and the ability to transform their communities. At the same time, many youths are growing up in environments affected by poverty, unemployment, trauma, substance use, family conflict, political tension, social division and limited opportunities.

When young people are surrounded by frustration, disrespect, hopelessness or violence, conflict can easily become normalized. BLACOMO believes that violence should never become the main language through which young people express pain, disagreement or frustration.

Through education, mentorship and community engagement, BLACOMO – Black Consciousness Movement Sierra Leone promotes non-violence, peaceful communication, accountability, cultural grounding and community conflict resolution.
